Clear Path for Veterans, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, is Upstate New York’s archetype Veteran Service Organization serving as a hub of information, programs, and resources. We are a welcoming community of staff and volunteers serving all Veterans and their families. As a single point of contact for Veterans, military members, and their families we engage, support, and make it easy to connect with what you need with a commitment to providing a welcoming place to call home. Our in-house programs and services are diverse and rely on partnerships and collaboration. Clear Path’s focus is on restoring, reconnecting, and integrating. Our programs and services are innovative, adaptive, and flexible to the needs of those who serve.

Our Vision

To be the Veteran Service Organization (VSO) that Veterans turn to in order to improve their physical and emotional well-being and a general sense of self-worth.

Our Values

  • Community: Creating a caring community within our walls and beyond
  • Leadership: Providing the path for others to follow
  • Empower through choice: Empowering Veterans to improve their lives and the lives of others
  • Accountability:  Accountable to our mission, our Veterans, our community, our stakeholders and ourselves
  • Respect:  Respect for self, others, and the beauty around us

Our Mission

Recognizing the responsibility of communities to help those who serve, Clear Path for Veterans empowers service members, Veterans, and their families through supportive programs and services in a safe, respectful environment.

Our Home Base

Clear Path’s property is 76 acres of fields and woodlands that sit atop a prominent ridge and offer miles of breathtaking views of five counties. Our facility is centrally located in both Madison and Onondaga counties, approximately 13 miles southeast of the Syracuse VA Medical Center. Clear Path’s outreach extends to a 33 county catchment area.

Our Key Partners & Concepts

Clear Path believes the best way to serve our military members and their families is through collaboration and partnerships. Our belief is that healthy Veterans transform communities and we identify partners that feel the same. Working with our local VA is critical to achieving that goal and Clear Path continues to do that. Our diversity in programs and services works well for organizations that target specific issues such as homelessness, education, and employment. An example of this is our partnership with Solider On an organization that addresses homelessness. Working in collaboration with Soldier On, Clear Path helps equip Veterans with tools that lead to success. Using peer support, community resources, and Clear Path programs, barriers to integration are reduced. Support goes far beyond housing, employment, and education. Clear Path focuses on the life cycle of a warrior and we provide a multitude of opportunities for Veterans to realize full citizenship by giving back incapacity that is comfortable for them.

Who We Serve

Clear Path serves military members, Veterans, and their families of all eras and prides itself on investing in this valuable population. Clear Path is centrally located close to several military bases located in our 33-county region. Fort Drum’s 10th Mountain Division, the Air National Guard’s 174th Attack Wing, the 224th Eastern Air Defense Section, the Marine 4th Light Armored Recon Bn, the Army National Guard’s 27th Brigade Combat Team, Army, Navy, Marine Corps Reserve, are located within a 90-mile radius of our center. We continue working with those actively serving and provide support as requested.

Our Goal

While many non-profits serving Veterans focus on a single issue or need, Clear Path’s model is diverse and all-inclusive. Although PTS, MST, traumatic brain injuries, and other physical injuries from military service are a reality of war, we help work through those challenges and build upon the resiliency of these men and women which goes beyond their disability. Each program, service, and referral we make takes into account the continual desire to serve and incorporates giving back in some capacity. We are firm believers that anyone who has worn the uniform holds a special place within their community. To ensure others answer the call to service, we continue educating the broader community on military and warrior culture and help prepare ourselves to accept the responsibility of welcoming them home. Clear Path is our community’s example of showing we care, no matter how long it takes.
